While I was coming to school, I met Mk's father outside the station lift. We but naturally fell into a brief discussion over the only topic on the minds of all the parents in the school.
He didn't appreciate that Jn and Ot had been expelled insultingly from the school as their father but still they chose to send a farewell cake to the school to make a grand farewell as if everything that brought about it was a normal affair.
"I won't be sending cakes for Mk and Lk's farewell and get their pictures clicked for their illegal and insulting dismissal from the school. There is no reason mentioned in the contract cancellation which makes it a big legal matter. I am planning to go to my lawyers."
We were doing everything for the betterment of the school and general benefit for students and parents. We took out time from our busy schedule to contribute some serious good service towards the institution; and they took offence at this? What did they want us to do? Be a dummy and just prepare eatables for summer festival? Its absurd and ridiculous what the school is doing...." He remarked with a deep sigh.
I met Mtn too at the door and we exchanged a deep meaningful glance with a wry smile on our faces...
We all have same grief gnawing at our hearts at the sheer unjust, inexplicable and humiliating behavior of the management which just doesn't make sense at all.
I personally believed this committee was really great because unlike the previous year's committee which really did nothing except arranging eatables for the summer festival, this one was really active and made so many positive achievements for the school like first of all creating an internet connection platform for all the parents and teachers which facilitated information exchange between the school and parents to an amazingly high degree. Arranging a parents teacher get-together every month in a nearby restaurant, collecting donation of 200 something Euros for the school on Christmas occasion and several others which I don't even know of, the most recent one being trying to plan out the summer festival and other pressing issues. I always thought the school needed to award Mtn for his outstanding service to the school and many times forcefully restrained myself from mailing to the committee what a high opinion I had of them and how well they were conducting their duty.
Well. All goes in the drain now. The school has sent an official email to all the parents inviting them for summer festival 2011 and has also announced the date for the next parents' committee election. Alongside Tk has brazenly written that the parents' committee is not a labor intensive work. The members of the committee do not need to concern themselves with the administration and management affairs of the school. Instead they only need to contribute their services for school functions and helping other parents to address their problems if any.
After the unfortunate treatment which this committee has received I wonder who would want to form the committee once again knowing that Stf and Tk will make sure they have no powers, no authority and no functions. I feel afraid the management has struck terror in the hearts of all the parents making them to live with constant fear not to do anything that may displease the management or else their children would be thrown out of the school.
Ever since this Tk has hit this school, we have experienced new heights in terms of disasters. When As had resigned we all were filled with new hopes of change and development in school.
It now seems As was perhaps better...
